MLK day. It’s a good time to put aside whatever comparatively petty problems we have in our lives and think about the people who struggled to actually put some good and justice in this world.
We’ll all probably hear the Dion song “Abraham, Martin, and John” before the day is out, so here are a few lines from that song:
Anybody here seen my old friend Martin?
Can you tell me where he’s gone?
He freed a lot of people,
But it seems the good they die young.
I just looked ’round and he’s gone.
Didn’t you love the things that they stood for?
Didn’t they try to find some good for you and me?
And we’ll be free
Some day soon, and it’s a-gonna be one day …
I’ve also registered for the 2004 MS 150 Bike Ride, which is coming up the weekend of June 26-27. The BITEMS team roster is already growing, and you can visit our team site at I also have my own page at the MS Society, and you can get there by clicking right here.
Sorry, no rants today. 🙂
